Songs & Rhymes
Rhyme:
Up, up in the sky, the little birds fly (fingers flying like birds)
Down, down in the nest, the little birds rest. (hands form nest)
With a wing on the left, and a wing on the right (hands on each hip)
Let the little birds rest all night. (head to one side, like tucking under wing)
“shhhhh!! You might wake up the birdies!“ (yelled, of course)
The bright sun comes up,
the dew falls away,
good morning, good morning
the little birds say.
Song: I See Robins
Tune: “Are You Sleeping”
I see robins,
I see bird’s nests,
Butterflies too,
Flowers too.
Everything is growing,
The wind is gently blowing.
Spring is here,
Spring is here.

Songs, Rhymes & Fingerplays
Fingerplay: During the Spring
During the Spring, it often showers
[Flutter fingers down.]
Or the sun shines for many hours
[Form circle in the air with arms.]
Both are good for the flowers!
[Cup each hand and extend arms like flowers.]
Fingerplay: Ten Little Fingers
I have ten little fingers
And they all belong to me.
I can make them do things,
Would you like to see?
I can shut them up tight.
Or open them wide.
I can put them together,
Or make them all hide.
I can make them jump up high,
Or make them go low.
I can fold them up quietly,
And sit just so!
Movement Rhyme: 10 Little Bunnies
1 little, 2 little, 3 little bunnies,
4 little, 5 little, 6 little bunnies,
7 little, 8 little, 9 little bunnies,
10 little bunnies hopping up and down.
Hop, hop, hop little bunnies.
Hop, hop, hop little bunnies.
Hop, hop, hop little bunnies.
Do a spin and sit right down.
