“Clap Your Hands” from Songs for Wiggleworms
“Crazy Hands” by Merry Music Maker, Kids on the Move
“Rock & Roll Freeze Dance” by Hap Palmer, So Big

Songs, Rhymes & Fingerplays

Movement Rhyme: Hands on Shoulders
Hands on shoulders,
Hands on knees.
Hands behind you,
If you please;
Touch your shoulders,
Now your nose,
Now your hair and now your toes.
Hands up high in the air,
Down at your sides, and touch your hair;
Hands up high now as before,
Now clap your hands, 1-2-3-4.

Fingerplay: Ten Fingers
I have ten fingers (hold up both hands, fingers spread).
And they all belong to me, (point to self).
I can make them do things-
Would you like to see?

I can shut them up tight (make fists)
I can open them wide (open hands).
I can put them together (place palms together).
I can make them all hide (put hands behind back).

I can make them jump high (hands over head).
I can make them jump low (touch floor).
I can fold them up quietly (fold hands in lap).
And hold them just so.

Song: If You’re Happy and You Know It
If you’re happy and you know it, clap your hands
-Stomp your feet
-Nod your head
-Blink your eyes
-Wiggle your hips
-Tap your toes
-Wave your hands

Toddler Storytime- Books

Books Always Everywhere by Jane Blatt
Inside This Book (are three books) by Barney Saltzberg

Felt Board
“Wiggle Worm, Wiggle Worm”

“Books Ahoy!”  by Monty Harper, Take Me to Your Library

Letter of the Week
This week we are learning about the letter Bb.

Early Literacy Fact of the Week

Expand on the things your child says. For example, if your child points at a flower, respond with: “Yes, that is a flower. That kind of flower is called a rose. Roses can be red, yellow, white, or pink.” Another great way to talk with your child is to get a book without words. This gives you an opportunity to have endless amounts of conversations with your child about what is happening on the page.

Songs & Rhymes

Open Song: Wake Up Feet
Wake up feet, wake up feet
Wake up feet and wiggle, wiggle, wiggle
Wake up feet, wake up feet
Wake up and wiggle in the morning.

other verses: hands, eyes, ears

Song Cube:
• I’m a Little Teapot
• ABC’s
• Twinkle Twinkle Little Star
• The Itsy Bitsy Spider
• Five Green Speckled Frogs
• Wheels on the Bus

Row, Row, Row Your Boat
Row, row, row your boat
Gently down the stream
Merrily, merrily, merrily, merrily
Life is but a dream.

Row, row, row your boat
Gently down the creek
If you see a little mouse,
Don’t forget to SQUEAK!

Row, row, row your boat
Gently down the stream.
If you see a crocodile,
Don’t forget to SCREAM!

Row, row, row your boat,
Gently to the shore.
If you see a lion,
Don’t forget to ROAR!

Read-a-book, read-a-book,
Read me a book
As fast as you can.
Open it, and close it,
Book starts with a “B.”
Read a book out loud
For you and for me.

Hands Go Up
Hands go up and hands go down.
I can turn myself around.
I can reach down to my shoe.
I can listen so can you.
Now let’s sit, I’ll show you how.
The next story is starting now.

Open, Shut Them
Open, shut them, open, shut them,
Give a little clap, clap, clap.
Open, shut them, open, shut them,
Put them in your lap, lap, lap.
Creep them, creep them,
Slowly creep them,
Right up to your chin, chin, chin.
Open wide your little mouth,
But do not let them in!

Closing Song: I Think It’s Time We Have To Go
I think it’s time, we have to go.
Wave your elbows, wave your toes.
Wave your tongue, wave your nose.
Wave your knees, wave your lips.
Blow me a kiss with your fingertips.
Wave your chin, wave your eye.
Now it’s time to wave goodbye.
