Songs & Rhymes

Rhyme:Here is a House”

Here is a house built up high(hands over head to make a roof)
With two big chimneys reaching for the sky (raise arms up high)
Here is a window (draw a square)
Here is a door (pretend to open a door)
If we look inside (peek through fingers)
There’s a mouse on the floor! (scamper fingers away)

Song:

Johnny plays with one hammer, one hammer, one hammer,
(hammer with fist)
Johnny plays with one hammer, all day long.

Johnny plays with two hammers, two hammers, two hammers,
(hammer with 2 fists)
Johnny plays with two hammers, all day long

Johnny plays with three hammers, three hammers, three hammers, ( hammer with 2 fists and one leg)
Johnny plays with three hammers, all day long

Johnny plays with four hammers, four hammers, four hammers,
(hammer with 2 fists and 2 legs)
Johnny plays with four hammers, all day long

Johnny plays with five hammers, five hammers, five hammers,
(hammer with 2 fists, 2 legs, and head)
Johnny plays with five hammers all day long.
Johnny’s getting tired now, tired now, tired now.
Johnny’s getting tired now all day long.
Johnny’s waking up now, up now, up now
Johnny’s waking up now, I’m awake too!

Rhyme: “Houses”
Here is a nest for robin (cup both hands)
Here is a hive for bee (fists together)
Here is a hole for bunny (make a circle)
And here is a house for ME! (make a roof)
