Letter of the Week
This week we are learning about the letter Bb.

Early Literacy Fact of the Week

Talk
Expand on the things your child says. For example, if your child points at a flower, respond with: “Yes, that is a flower. That kind of flower is called a rose. Roses can be red, yellow, white, or pink.” Another great way to talk with your child is to get a book without words. This gives you an opportunity to have endless amounts of conversations with your child about what is happening on the page.

Songs & Rhymes

Open Song: Wake Up Feet
Wake up feet, wake up feet
Wake up feet and wiggle, wiggle, wiggle
Wake up feet, wake up feet
Wake up and wiggle in the morning.

other verses: hands, eyes, ears

Song Cube:
• I’m a Little Teapot
• ABC’s
• Twinkle Twinkle Little Star
• The Itsy Bitsy Spider
• Five Green Speckled Frogs
• Wheels on the Bus

Row, Row, Row Your Boat
Row, row, row your boat
Gently down the stream
Merrily, merrily, merrily, merrily
Life is but a dream.

Row, row, row your boat
Gently down the creek
If you see a little mouse,
Don’t forget to SQUEAK!

Row, row, row your boat
Gently down the stream.
If you see a crocodile,
Don’t forget to SCREAM!

Row, row, row your boat,
Gently to the shore.
If you see a lion,
Don’t forget to ROAR!

Read-a-Book
Read-a-book, read-a-book,
Librarian.
Read me a book
As fast as you can.
Open it, and close it,
Book starts with a “B.”
Read a book out loud
For you and for me.

Hands Go Up
Hands go up and hands go down.
I can turn myself around.
I can reach down to my shoe.
I can listen so can you.
Now let’s sit, I’ll show you how.
The next story is starting now.

Open, Shut Them
Open, shut them, open, shut them,
Give a little clap, clap, clap.
Open, shut them, open, shut them,
Put them in your lap, lap, lap.
Creep them, creep them,
Slowly creep them,
Right up to your chin, chin, chin.
Open wide your little mouth,
But do not let them in!

Closing Song: I Think It’s Time We Have To Go
I think it’s time, we have to go.
Wave your elbows, wave your toes.
Wave your tongue, wave your nose.
Wave your knees, wave your lips.
Blow me a kiss with your fingertips.
Wave your chin, wave your eye.
Now it’s time to wave goodbye.
