 Songs & Rhymes

Rhyme: Hunting for Eggs

Hunting for eggs
Under my bed,
I found one in a slipper,
And the egg was colored red.

Hunting for eggs,
Now I have two,
I found one in the closet,
And the egg was colored blue.

Hunting for eggs,
What a lucky fellow,
I found one in a bucket,
And the egg was colored yellow.

Hunting for eggs
Where none could be seen,
I found one in a shoe box,
And the egg was colored green.

Hunting for eggs,
Quick as a wink,
I found one in the garden,
And the egg was colored pink.

Red and yellow,
Green, pink, and blue.
I found five eggs–-
How about you?

Rhyme: 5 Little Bunnies

Hippity-hop, hippity-hay
Five little bunnies went out to play.
Hippity-hop, hippity-hay
One little bunny hopped away.

Hippity-hop, hippity-hay
Four little bunnies went out to play…

Three little bunnies …

Two little bunnies …

One little bunny …

Hippety hop and hippety hay,
No more bunnies are playing today.
Hippety hop and hippety hay,
I hope they come back another day.

Rhyme: Here Comes a Bunny

Here comes a bunny – hippity, hop, (squat down and hop)
With ears so funny – floppity, flop.
(index fingers on side of head & wiggle them)
When in danger he -sniffity, sniffs, (wiggle nose)
Then hides in his hole – jiffity, jiff! (hands over head to hide)

The more we get together, the happier we’ll be.

Movement Rhyme: Hello!
Hey! Hi! Howdy! Yo!
There are many ways to say hello!
Wave your hand. Nod your head.
Smile big or wink instead.
Blow a kiss. Tip your hat.
Shake your hands. Give a pat.
Of all the ways to say hello,
Here’s the way I like to go … HELLO!

Movement Rhyme: Bumblebee
Bumblebee, bumblebee,
Landing on my nose.
Bumblebee, bumblebee,
Now he’s on my toes.
On my arms, on my legs,
On my elbows!
Bumblebee, Bumblebee,
He lands and then he goes!

Action Rhyme: My Hands Say Thank You

My feet say thank you with a tap, tap, tap
My head says thank you with a shake, shake, shake
My heart says thank you with a kiss to take

We can jump, jump, jump
We can hop, hop, hop

All day long.

You can`t catch me, You can`t catch me.
Along comes Mr. Shark,
As quiet as can be… Snap!

(Repeat with:) Four little fishes, etc…

Rhyme: 5 Little Seashells

Five little seashells washed up on the shore,
Along came a wave and then there were four
Four little seashells happy as could be,
Along came a wave and then there were three.
Three little seashells all shiny and new,
Along came a wave and then there were two.
Two little seashells lying in the sun,
