dance them on your shoulders, dance them on your head
dance them on your tummy, and put them all to bed

Rhyme: Five Little Ballerinas
Five little ballerians dance across the floor
one twirled away and then there were four.
Four little ballerians strechted tall like a tree
one leaped away and then there were three.
Three little ballerinas dressed in tutus of blue
one danced away and then there were two.
Two little ballerians having lots of fun
One twirled away and then there was one.
One little ballerian dancing all along
She danced away and then there were none

Props: Scarves

Movement Activity: Rainbow Dancers
RAINBOW dancers let’s get ready
Hold your scarves nice and steady.
You’ll hear the colors of the RAINBOW.
Listen for your time to go.

Shake red
Shake orange
Shake yellow
Shake green
Shake blue
Shake purple

Red scarves turn around,
Orange scarves up and down.
Yellow scarves reach up high,
Green scarves fly, fly, fly.

RAINBOW dancers, dance around,
Scarves swirl up and scarves swirl down.
Overhead and on the ground,
RAINBOWS flying all around.

Shake purple
Shake blue
Shake green
Shake yellow
Shake orange
Shake red

Blue scarves tickle your nose,
Purple scarves touch your toes.
Everybody dance around,
Swirl your scarves up and swirl your scarves down.

RAINBOW dancers dance around,
Scarves swirl up and scarves swirl down.
RAINBOW dancers wave to a friend,
Our colorful dance is at an end.

Fingerplay: Thelma Thumb
Thelma Thumb is up, Thelma Thumb is down
Thelam Thumb is dancing all around the town.
Dance her on your shoulders
Dance her on your head
Dancer her on your knees
and tuck her into bed.

Action Rhyme: Clap Your Hands
(Tune: Row Your Boat)
Clap, clap, clap your hands, clap your hands together
Clap, clap, clap your hands, clap your hands together.
…wiggle your fingers fast.
…shake your shoulders up and down,
…move your hips around
…bend your knees right now
…slide your feet across the floor
…dance around together

Closing Song:  Wave Goodbye
Wave high, wave low,
I think it’s time, we gotta go.
Wave your elbows, wave your toes,
Wave your tongue and wave your nose.
Wave your knees, wave your lips,
Blow a kiss with fingertips.
Wave your chin, wave your eye,
Wave your hand and say “Goodbye!”
